Choosing the Right Size for the Right Fit for Your Baby

Please take the time to read our Size Guide below to help you choose the size that will give your baby the best fit so that they get the best experience.

Our sleep sacks are designed to be a looser fit compared to other brands and are sized to cater for the average to high percentile sized babies.

If your baby is in the lower percentile for their age, it will be likely that they will get a better fitting sleep suit with the size below.

It's all about the arm span

The Sleepy Hugs is all about the arm span - the key is to measure your baby's arm span to get the correct size. If too big, your baby will not get the security and snug fit that they still need in the arms. More importantly, if too big there could be excess fabric that could pose a safety risk.

The best fit is a snug fit

Designed to help your baby gently transition to free arms, the Sleepy Hugs sleep suit will be most effective if you choose the size that will give your baby a snug fit in the arms.

How to measure your baby's arm span

The correct way to measure your baby's arm span is to measure with your baby’s arms slightly bent - this is how your baby sleeps naturally, then measure the tops of their hands from one side to the other (left to right or right to left).

Do not measure with your baby's arms fully stretched out - you will not get the right fit.

Check the size guides here.

  • Measurements are for the sleep sack, not the baby.
  • Measurements are approximate.
  • Babies aged 6-12M should consider using our Hands In & Out sleep sack.
  • Babies aged 12M and over can start using the toddler suit.
