When was the last time you really slept?
You finally settle your baby, lay them down, and tiptoe away. Then one arm wriggles free, the startle reflex kicks in, and you're back to re-wrap, settle, repeat.
Most swaddles rely on perfect wrapping technique, which is hard enough in daylight, let alone at 3am.
I designed Koala Hugs after going through those newborn nights myself. The arm pockets do the hard part for you, so your baby stays snug and you both get more sleep.

The swaddle that stays put all night
If your swaddle doesn't have arm pockets, it's not worth using. Koala Hugs' built-in pockets gently hold your baby's arms in place, so the wrap stays snug however much they wriggle.
- No more breakouts: hands stay tucked in, so no more middle-of-the-night re-wrapping.
- Calms the startle reflex: for longer stretches of sleep.
- No tight wrapping: a gentle hold that leaves room for hips and legs to move naturally.
- Buttery soft organic cotton: breathable and gentle on newborn skin.
- Generous size: use it as a swaddle now, and a tummy-time or play mat later.

A Definite Must-Have
"Buying this wrap was one of the best decisions I made in the early days of bringing my newborn home. Swaddling can be difficult at the best of times, even more so if you are dead tired. However, this wrap has made the process quick and easy. It is loved by the whole family. A definite must have!" - Melissa G

Baby sleeps best in this swaddle
"I don't think it's a coincidence that my daughter sleeps better in this swaddle than in anything else I've used. I love the built in arm pockets and the length of the swaddle. The design makes it easy to wrap her, and she looks so cosy and calm. Even in Australian summer, the material is not too hot, and she has slept for nice long stretches in the day and night. She is currently 3 weeks, and I started using this from 1 week. Amazing product!" - Maxine R

Truly Amazing
"I am so happy with the newborn wrap!! My little one fights so hard to get her hands out so the newborn wrap is perfect because of the inbuilt arms section. It makes swaddling her so easy and the material is soft too & not too heavy. I would 100% recommend this product!" - Joanne K

Frequently Asked Questions
Many newborns settle better when swaddled. A snug wrap feels like the womb and calms the startle reflex, those sudden arm jerks that can wake them. Swaddling is optional, but if you do, wrap firmly around the upper body and loosely around the hips, always lay your baby on their back, and stop as soon as they show signs of rolling.
In the first weeks, the startle reflex is at its strongest. A wrap holds your baby's arms snugly in, which is what helps many newborns settle, and it adjusts to fit even tiny babies. Once your baby shows signs of rolling, their arms need to be free, and that's when to move to a sleep sack like Sleepy Hugs.
Regular wraps rely on perfect folding to keep arms in. Koala Hugs has built-in arm pockets that hold your baby's arms gently in place, so it stays put even with a wriggly baby.
Koala Hugs is designed for newborns, from birth to about 12 weeks, or until your baby shows signs of rolling.
Yes. Koala Hugs holds the arms snugly but isn't tight around the hips, so your baby's legs can bend up and out naturally.
As soon as your baby shows signs of rolling. Then move to Sleepy Hugs, which gives free arms for safe rolling with the same snug feel.

When your baby starts to roll, it's time to stop swaddling.
As soon as your baby shows signs of rolling, swaddling is no longer safe. Sleepy Hugs is the gentle next step, with free arms for safe rolling and arms-in sleeves that still calm the startle reflex.
